Hello TRS-80 lovers.....

Me to. I am also a lover of the TRS-80. My very very first computer (PC) was a TRS-80 Level II basic with 16 KB of Ram (both for 1200 gulders witch is now 645 euros -- But for real counted back the price is equal now to 1200 euros--) And oneyear later a expansion of 32 KB Ram. And a couple of mouths later the disk drive with floppy's 5 inch. Those disk where a fortune these days.
To make it cheaper for me. I found a discription of making the disk 2 sided. And it worked. Later on i aquiered more stuff. It was easy for me in those days. I lived by my parrents, had work that was high payed (case the danger of it) And did pay a little to them.

The computer did had a long live. I did got married, got childeren. And al the time i did not trough away the TRS-80. It was alway is my hobby room. In a corner covered for safety. And alway keep it clean.

I have spend a lot of time lately on the TRS-80 Found some tapes that i did had used to write basic programs. The TRS-80 could read them with no problems. And found that the simple graphics was just very nice. Played with it and start learnig the basic language again. Was very easy. But at the beginning of 2017 the screen starts to show very weard characters at first and when the trs-80 was runnig the characters came back normal. And the on a day a lot of smoke from the keyboard and no signal to the screen anymore. I had opened the keyboard and a lot of chips where black and some parts of the circuit board where black. Even the power supply was fried. There was nothing to rerque here. So i had to fall back to the PC to work for the TRS-80. No problem. But drawback was, the old basic games that i did wrote where nowhere on the internet.
A luck for me there was a program to convert the tape to CAS files. And it works. Finaly i could run the games on my computer. (NO IT DIDN'T). I had a lot of the emulators but not one did run de converted tape. Even the tape file where the same as the files i could find in the internet, still they load partly.

Searching on the internet for converting the BASIC.CAS file to a good basic ASCII file. NOTHING???? I examined the tape file and found out that is was easy to converd.

So here i made a converting program. I wrote it in 1 hour. Its crude but it works. Just run the program load the CAS or BAS file. and give the location and extension you like. The program show the lines converted and when its done (In about 1 sec) It ask for the left mouse click. The TRS-80 basic file is saved on you disk.

Have Fun with it.
